Skill Building
Learn and grow through hands-on activities
We hope to build upon these clubs and offer even more unique social opportunities for our young adults. To do so, we need your help!
Who We help?
Our Neighborhood Academy specifically supports young adults ages 18+ with Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities who have graduated from high school or completed adult transition programs. Many of our students come from Berkley Public Schools, Birmingham Public Schools, and other local districts.
What We Do
We offer three distinct programs designed to build independence and community:
Social Program: Monthly events and community meet-ups that build friendships and communication skills
Job Training: Real employment experience through our Children's Boutique and custom job opportunities
Curriculum Program: Comprehensive life skills education using the Stanfield Transitions Curriculum
why Putt for a purpose?
Every stroke helps create more opportunities for our young adults to belong, grow, and succeed. This event supports the community at Our Neighborhood Academy by funding social clubs, job training, and confidence-building experiences.
