Days and Times

At Our Neighborhood Academy, we try to accommodate individuals who may need to come and leave at various times. Our typical hours of operation are Monday through Friday from 10 AM – 4 PM.

Sessions

Our Neighborhood Academy offers four sessions throughout the year. Winter, Spring, Summer, and Fall. Each one ranges between eight to twelve weeks.

At Our Neighborhood Academy, we are mindful of holiday breaks and vacation days.

Fees

Fees will vary based on the amount of time you register for.

Our Neighborhood Academy is working on becoming approved through Oakland Community Health Network (OCHN) for reimbursement. Usually, our fees are $25 per hour. Additionally, we offer scholarships and a range of payment options.

What to Expect at our Programs

  • Our programs are designed for young adults ages 18+ with intellectual or developmental disabilities who have graduated from high school or an adult transition program. We welcome individuals of all ability levels who can benefit from structured learning environments and social engagement opportunities.

  • Our programs are designed to fit different needs and schedules:

    • Social Program: Activities typically occur 1-2 times per month

    • Job Training: Available during our business hours (Monday-Saturday), with flexible scheduling to accommodate individual needs.

    • Curriculum Program: Classes meet weekly, with morning and afternoon options available.

  • Appropriate support is provided for all participants, including individualized goal-setting, structured environments, and accommodations for different learning styles and abilities.
